Congratulations to Rotarian Geoff Holt, MBE.

We are delighted to report that Geoff was awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List  for "Services to Disabled Sailing" which was unexpected but a great surprise to him

The 44-year-old Rotarian from Hamble Valley Rotary Club suffered a swimming accident 25 years ago, which broke his neck and left him paralysed from the chest down.

But in 2007 he became the first disabled person to sail solo around Britain, (visiting many Rotary Clubs in the process) and smashed records again earlier this year when he became the first quadriplegic to sail across the Atlantic Ocean.
